This cone is a good-quality, easily-stowable piece of safety equipment. The flashing light is not on top as shown in the photo, but is inside the base, illuminating the entire cone from the inside. I find the flashing light to be an unnecessary feature, but perhaps it is a draw for some people. The cone itself is a good size and seems sturdy with decent reflective tape. I purchased 3 of these in order to examine them more closely. I then decided to buy some additional cones, but discovered that the price had doubled from $10.19 to over $20.00 per cone. I would recommend that this cone is a bargain at $10.19, but not worth double the money, hence my recommendation dropped from 5 to 2 stars.

I keep one of these on top of the spare (it's that thin) in every vehicle I own. Reflective tape and flashing LED are sure to get attention. Flares are one time use and burn out over time. Plus, do you really want to keep a potential ignition source (flares) above your fuel tank?

These cones work exactly as advertised. They store in a small area and expand to a full size cone. Very, very convenient and useful for space constrainted RVer's.

Whenever I'm in Los Angeles, I use the Collapsible LED Safety Cone when I walk, since the motorists don't care about pedestrians. I wear it like a hat, after having modified it to weigh less, inserted a chin strap, soft interior, etc. It fits great and I'm very visible. It is collapsible if I want to go into a formal restaurant. I may look like a dunce but it beats getting smashed by some motorists and I am protected in court in case their excuse is, "I didn't see him." It even has a LED light atop it.

This is one of the best technical books I've ever read on any subject--and I've read many of them! It should be must reading not only for those who conduct transportation safety studies--the subject of the book-- but also for those conducing any observational study ("before/after study"), whether safety-related or not.
<br />
<br />This book is a valuable and much-needed contribution to the technical literature. The book begins by showing how classical statistical techniques are often misused in observational studies. Classical techniques assume a rigorous experimental design, with random assignment to treatment and non-treatement groups. These conditions do not apply to observational studies, such as those determining the influence of smoking on health. Errors such as assuming safety in the immediate "before" period is a good predictor of safety in the "after" period are discussed. The book then goes on to provide valid techniques that work. It shows how to compare the what would have been the safety in the after period without treatment, to the safety that was achieved. Complications of assessing the safety in the before and after periods are addressed.
<br />
<br />The book is not only an important technical contribution, it is also extremely well-written. The author's writing style is extremely lucid and should serve as an example to others. The first section of the book provides a qualitative description of the material. Subsequent sections then repeat the material, but with mathemtatical rigor. Numerous numerical examples (some with real-world data; others with hypothetcial data for simplicity sake) make the material clear. Mathematical dervivations are provided for rigor, but isolated from the rest of the text to keep from overwhelming the reader.
<br />
<br />The author writes with a conversational style, frequently re-emphasizing important points. He takes care to show at all points where he is in the logical discussion and how the current topic fits in to the overall picture. Some of the words are written tongue in cheek. My favorite is his description that
<br />"they do not have a problem of congnition, but only of brittle bones".
<br />
<br />In short, the book is outstanding for both its technical content and for the way the material is presented.

This is a well written, well laid out source of good, accurate emergency information for the horse owner. When something bad happens, many of us just go blank, especially when it happens to our own best equine friend. This book tells you exactly what you need to know fast in an easily accesable format. Every barn needs to have this book handy. Buy it!

I purchased six of these LED flares and I'm very happy with them. They are sturdy although I wouldn't want to have to many cars running over them. They are very bright and have a magnetic base that is strong enough to keep them anchored on a vertical surface. You won't be able to see them during the day which is expected. But, mounted vertically especially when pointed in the direction of traffic they are more than adequate. In fact they are brighter and more pronunced than the standard chemical flare. I've seen them on Amazon several times as weekend deals and that's when I purchased mine for about half price and free shipping.

Great alternative to burning flares, as I use the LED Safety Flare in a dense forest in Vienna when I hike at night. I was almost shot by night hunters so I decided to get this to be visible. It blinks and lets them know I am in the vicinity.
<br />
<br />Box says, "2 AA batteries provide 6 hours of continuous steady mode or 20 hours of continuous flash mode, Magnetic base easily attaches to cars, wagons, carts, steel doors, 360 degree visibility well over 1 mile, Weather resistant and crush resistant, Dual LED options: flashing & steady on."
