2004 Acura NSX – Sport Car Magic

The 2004 Acura NSX was a beast of a vehicle when it was first released. The price tag on this car hovered around $90, 000 and there were plenty of buyers anxious to put one of these vehicles their garage. The NSX by Acura was originally brought to the American and Canadian markets in 1989 and the concept car took everyone by surprise. The design was aerodynamic and ultra modern and there were new materials being used that were making these cars a hot topic among sports car enthusiasts.

The 2-door style of the vehicle made it clear that it was built as an engine muscle car and not a family sedan. The lightweight top was removable if you accessed the two levers located on the interior of the roof. Although the first year was definitely a peak year for sales, the car continued to do well throughout its annual reincarnations. When the 2004 Acura NSX debuted, it was being pitted against well-known muscle cars like the Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Corvette, Porsche, and Dodge Viper.

This was a powerful speedster that came in a 3L, V6 engine with a 4 speed automatic transmission. The transmission of the vehicle did have a stick shift feature that you could choose to use to add some flair and excitement to your sports car driving fun. There was also a 3.2L V6 engine with a 6 speed manual shift. The addition of 6 gears was the most coveted model by most who were adding this vehicle to their personal line-up. The V6 engine contained a 10.2 compression ratio, 78 mm stroke and a 90mm bore. There was also a double overhead cam on all of these vehicles with variable valve timing/camshaft and 4 valves per cylinder.

The 3.0 L 181 cc engine was somewhat outclassed by the 3.2L 194 cc engine. The 3L model could provide 252 Horsepower at 6600 rpm but the 3.2L version delivered 290 Horsepower at 7100 rpm. The difference is torque was also notable with the 3L giving 210 lb/ft at 5300 rpm and the 3.2L providing 224 lb/ft at 5500 rpm.

Traction control, anti-lock4 wheel disc brakes, and dual front airbags were standard equipment on the vehicles that gave drivers a little extra safety and stability when on the wide-open roads. The mileage for this 2004 Acura NSX sportster was 17/24, which was not too shabby considering that it was built to be pushed at high speeds.

Knowing that this car would be a hot ticket item there were plenty of available color options for both interior and exterior. A customer could take what model happened to be at the dealer that day or choose Grand Prix White, Berlina Black, Silverstone Metallic, Indy Yellow, Long Beach Blue Pearl, Imola Orange Pearl, or New Formula Red as their exterior color preference. The Yellow, Red, and Blue were the most commonly seen colors for this car. Interior color options included orange, yellow, camel, onyx, silver, blue, white, and red.

This all aluminum uni-body car construction provided a lightweight build that could deliver on both unleashed power and responsive, exquisite handling. The engines of all of the 2004 NSX sports cars were created to provide the least amount of friction at all times. These engines were known to be phenomenal workhorses no matter the punishment they were subjected to. The driver remained the focus of this design and this was perhaps the biggest draw for people looking to make the purchase of this super star vehicle. The deep seats kept the driver riveted to the center of gravity and made driving this sports car a truly memorable experience.

The sound system in this sports car is everything you could have requested if you had been the design engineer in charge. The CD changer was then a new feature in 2004 and was mounted in the trunk. There was 165 watts of power provided through a subwoofer at the passenger’s foot, a midrange tweeter that was positioned to the rear of the seats, and speakers mounted low on each door. If music was what you wanted to hear as you drove this vehicle to work then the dynamic sound system delivered the goods.

The Acura 2004 NSX has a rear wheel drive that is stable and dependable. The unique heavy-duty design of the clutch reduced up to 50% of the shifting loads on the vehicles by using the integrated dual and triple coned synchronizers. There was also a Torque Reactive Differential which gave additional control and stability to a driver by decreasing the inside wheel spin whenever the sports car would corner a turn.

The interior of the car was luxury and speed all wrapped up in one glorious package. A full leather upholstery job was only the tip of the design iceberg. There was a Bose AM/FM cassette player; fully powered 4-way bucket seat; keyless entry; 6 CD changer, telescoping sports steering wheel; windshield wipers with variable control; and power windows-doors-mirrors and locks. Add to these a tachometer, floor mats, climate controlled air conditioning, power steering, and cruise control. Even this long list still does not cover all of the features presented on the 2004 Acura NSX vehicles.

If You Are Going To Race Sports Cars Here Are Some Tips You

Should Know

Here below are several steps that you can follow to learn
how to better race your sports car if you own one or if you
are thinking of getting into the sport.

Start the engine either by turning it over or by electronic
ignition. The motor should already be started by the time
the announcer comes over the PA. Give it some gas to get
her warm. Just keep an eye on the temp and be sure all
gauges are working properly.

Racing sports cars means running 500 to 1000 horsepower, you
can just imagine the g- forces that are in all that power.
Many secrets for additional horsepower are turbo or bigger
turbo. If you slide out when racing that means to much
power for the track and need to tune before racing.

Racing with an automatic transmission over a standard in
racing is not recommended. Usually this is for the rookies
if they can’t shift on their own. Usually people who have
been racing like to race with a Manuel because of the feel
they get when downshifting then boosting back up to 8grand.
Track cars or bracket cars can be used as automatics but
when it comes to drag racing and drifting its all about the
standard.

When you are racing sometimes it is hard or unavoidable to
skid the wall. This is not a cause for alarm but should be
taken seriously. If you are an experienced driver or racer
then you are probably already fine with the wall but in
drifting its different you’re sliding towards the wall at
about 60 mph trying to drift parallel to it. It can get very
insane at times when you see someone’s rear come within an
inch of the wall and they drift it perfectly.

Always stay beneath the white lane at 100mph or over this is
just so other racers can avoid crashes and crashing into one
another. After you have made speed with others and are at
speed you can begin drafting again.

Keep your eyes on the road or track at all times. Be steady
and don’t let your hands ever slip off the wheel while
making a fast turn or while drifting this can result in a
crash injury or fatality.

Part of being careful and focused also knows that there is
an emergency button on every sports car when it is being
raced. It is usually in the middle of the dash where the
driver can easily reach it and punch it. This button will
automatically tell the cars ECU to shut down the cars motor.

Keep in mind that in a bad situation the sports car can
still be driven but it isn’t a good idea since most sports
cars being raced today are running with injected fluids such
as methanol or alcohol.

Modifying your Auto Sound System

If you are one of the many people around the world who happens to be into cars and the new pastime called ‘modding’ I’m sure you have considered the implications of modding your auto sound system. For many the idea of modifying an automobile is very exciting. It’s a way to take the standard canvas purchased from the dealer and turn it into a work of art that you drive to work and play each and every day. The same theory holds for your sound system as well. You can take the basic pieces and parts and turn them into something so much more than they were to begin with.

If that isn’t enough you can purchase all kinds of LED lights and other nifty gadgets that glow and go along with your car while dancing to the beat. If you want to make a splash driving down any boulevard, this is definitely one way to not only be seen but also leave a lasting impression. Your creative genius with your auto sound system will cause quite a stir and give plenty of people much to discuss the next morning and plenty of people a great deal of inspiration to try to mimic or at the very least incorporate into their units somehow.

There are all kinds of sound systems for automobiles. Many of these systems are sold as part of a package and readily available to multiple consumers. You have the option as a creative modding genius, to take the plane Jane package and turn it into something so much better than it is or to even go off on a tangent and invent a total package of your own by mixing and matching pieces and parts from several different packages or pieces of packages.

It doesn’t matter where your creativity ends and begins there is never a challenge too great for a true modder at heart. From cars, trucks, boats, and computers to car stereos there is no task too demanding or too complicated for a true modding mind to tackle and transform. Perhaps it’s the blinking lights or all the wonderful possibilities that abound but auto sound system mods are among my favorite to see in action. It’s amazing the things that can be thought up by a wicked imagination and accomplished with a little time and a lot of effort.

Seriously though, if you are going to go to all the trouble of dressing up your vehicle shouldn’t you also take the time to dress up your auto sound system? There are all kinds of gadgets and gizmos you can buy that will work with the music your speakers are pumping in order to create a fabulous overall affect of music and light that is sure to get some great reactions from those you cruise on by. These are perfect accessories for summer time beach driving if you know what I mean. Growing up on the coast, I found a great section of people who were constantly modifying their cars and sound systems. I think it is incredibly amazing what can be done with metal, glass, color, light, and sound and really enjoy seeing all of the amazing creations that are made.

Even if you haven’t really given much thought to modifying your auto sound system before, I hope that you will consider it now if you are a serious modder. I honestly believe you might amaze yourself at some of the fabulous tricks of sound and light that you can come up with when properly challenged and inspired.

Take the time to check out the interesting things that have been done, and then formulate a hypothesis on what can be done. It is truly amazing the wonderful things that have been created as the result of a glove being thrown so to speak. Jump in and create a fabulously modified sound system that will be the absolute envy of everyone you pass along the way.

Wise Tips in Buying a Car Alarm System

A car is a very expensive mode of transportation. It usually
takes years to own one. For many, it takes many years of
hard work to save up and buy a car. Having your own means of
transportation is quite a necessity nowadays since commuting
to places may be difficult and dangerous.

The idea of having a car is very inviting to many people. It
is not only very useful, but for many of us, it is also a
status symbol. It tells a lot about a person to have his own
car. And this is why cars are one of the hottest items for
thieves. They either steal cars for personal use or they
resell it a lower than market value price. This takes
advantage of the many people who want to own cars but cannot
afford to buy a brand new unit.

With rampant car thievery today around the globe, the car
alarm systems have become so popular to deter thieves from
trying to steal their valuable possession while parked in
public places or even in their own garages. After all, a
thief will even invade the privacy of homes just to steal
valuable items.

Basically, a car alarm is any electronic device installed in
a car that discourages thieves from stealing it. Almost all
car alarms work in the same way. It has sensors that can
detect unwanted invasion. If these sensors are triggered, it
sounds off loudly to scare a thief and attract attention
from people nearby.

Car alarms give security to car owners. Once they alight
from their cars and go somewhere, they activate the alarm to
give them a peace of mind, knowing that if someone tries to
go near their car, the alarm will sound and scare him away.

It is always good to know the basics of car alarms when you
intend to have one installed in your car. The basic parts
are motion sensors, glass-break sensors, priority lock and
remote outputs.

Motion sensors let you leave the windows open which is very
good in protecting your cargoes. Whenever someone invades
your space, the motion sensors will automatically alarm.

Glass-break sensors detect windows that are about to break,
and will sound the alarm. This kind of sensor is very useful
because most often than not, a thief’s first instinct is to
break glass windows to unlock the door.

Priority lock lets the driver control conveniently all locks
at his side. In just a push of a button, all the doors will
lock at the same time. This is very useful especially if
there are passengers who are unmindful of forgetful in
locking doors after going down the car.

There are other features that may be more suitable to
individual needs. The alarm auto shut feature automatically
locks a car after a predetermined time. Thus, even if you
forget to lock, it will automatically lock for you after a
given set time.

There is also a starter disable system. Thefts may not be
able to start a car they are trying to steal.

Other features are a car alarm with hood and trunk
protection. Some has the option to silence or disarm the
security at anytime. Others are equipped with an adjustable
shock sensor.

In general, choose a car alarm system that works well in the
conditions you live in.

Why Car Maintenance is Crucial in Car Tuning

A diamond is forever… or so they say.

But unfortunately for everything else, nothing lasts forever.

That is why you need to take good care of your possessions if you want them to last longer. This is especially true for things that have moving parts.

So this is the reason why you need to send in your car for servicing every so often. Once a certain amount of time has passed, or after a particular number of miles have been clocked, it is necessary to have your car serviced and let the car maintenance guys have a look at it.

Some parts get worn out through frequent use, whilst others may already be damaged or are close to being spoilt. Regular car maintenance will ensure your car works when you need it to and you will not suffer any unexpected breakdowns when you least want it to.

All cars require maintenance, but tuned cars even more so.

You see, normal cars are manufactured to last for a fairly long time under normal circumstances. On the contrary, serious race cars like those in the F1 are designed to last just long enough to complete one race.

If you have a highly-tuned car, it will probably fall somewhere in between those two extremes. The more finely-tuned your car is, the more critical it is to perform regular maintenance.

With proper maintenance, you will find that your car parts lasts longer, it performs better, gets better power and traction, plus it is also safer.

You can do most of the maintenance by yourself. It is really simple to do and you will be better off if you learn how to do it yourself instead of sending your car to get it done by someone else. They will charge you an arm and a leg for it, so if you do it yourself, you can use the savings to go invest in some other aftermarket tuning parts.

But of course, you cannot do all of the maintenance yourself. Some sophisticated tuning parts require advance equipment for maintenance, and thus you will have no choice but to send the car to the professionals to have it checked out and serviced.

Just be sure to do it regularly, or else all your time and money spent on the tuning parts will be wasted once everything starts failing and breaking.

If you want to know how to make your car perform at its maximum potential, go check out the other car tuning tips http://www.cartuningcentral.com/ now!
