Buying Used Rental Cars: Major Advantages and Disadvantages

A rental car is like any other used car and most cars may have scrapes and scratches. However their engines are maintained better probably than most privately owned cars since constant care and maintenance are undertaken during their use. Most cars will be clean when purchased from the top companies. These companies remove them from service after two or three years of age and by that time, the rental car would have already undergone a larger portion of depreciation. However the prices tend to be on the higher side when bought from such rental companies. Extended warranties can be obtained for an additional amount for full coverage.

The market for used cars has changed significantly in recent years and will still continue to grow towards emulating the experience of buying a new car. The rental agencies offer a viable option for purchase when buying a used vehicle. Rental cars can be a great investment for people looking for a suitable vehicle contrary to popular belief that these cars woould have been abused by the rental company drivers previously. The maintenance records will mostly be clearly documented which is a huge plus. Since every vehicle owned by the rental company will be the bread and butter and to keep them in good working condition is a good business sense.

The older model vehicles of the Rental car agencies are often disposed of in public sales. Most people use this method for buying their family cars regularly. As the rental companies are not trying to make a profit, prices are also often lower than offered by used-car dealers. We will now consider in detail the Pros and Cons of purchase of used cars from rental companies.
Advantages of of Rental car purchase:

The buyer knows where the car is coming from. It is more likely that the cars have been well maintained and kept clean during its life as a rental car. Clean maintenance records will be offered as a back up. Even otherwise, this should be insisted upon to make sure that the car has been properly taken care of.

Another attractive factor for purchasing a rental car is low pricing. Vehicles of less than a year old and having less than 20,000 miles clocked in their odometers are offered by many rental car agencies. Whenever a new model is for sale, it does not necessarily indicate that the vehicle is problematic and that there should be any room for suspiscion. Rental companies normally procure their vehicles at a bare minimum pricing in a lot thus enabling them to sell again at very competitive prices.

Warranty will still be existing when a car is purchased through a rental car company as they are sold sometimes within a year of purchase which may have a reasonable mileage. There is also a good possibility that there still will be some time left from the manufacturers warranty period. This is another advantage. A little peace of mind will be left considering the cons of purchasing a rental car.
Disadvantages of Rental car purchase:

The rental companies sometimes may have no idea of how the car is actually used and its endurances while in the custody of the individual to whom it is rented to. Though there will be some assurance that the car was not mistreated, it is known a fact that the cars would have been suffered to abuse by the rental car agency drivers.

Though the rental agencies inspect the car upon its return to their lot for ensuring that there has been no damage, it is still reported at that point that it is largely cosmetic and while aesthetics are also important, what is inside really counts. Thorough Inspection by an outside and unaffiliated mechanic will be better to ensure that the vehicle has not suffered any mechanical damages at the hands of a thoughtless renter. Mechanical soundness is the true bottom line even while cosmetic issues are important with any used car purchase.

Buying Cars Through Online Auctions: Worth it or Not?

Online car auctions have given used automobiles a second chance to an infinite number of consumers worldwide. Over a million of cars are sold every year, reaching customers across borders—minus the hassle plus excellent service and satisfaction. With just a simple click, you may choose from a vast number of used cars that suit both your wants and needs which are cheaper than usual; you dictate the price! Auto auctions online may just be on top of the ranks in efficiently delivering your choice of pre-owned vehicles worth every penny.

But where exactly could you find used cars that are still reliable, economical, and good in quality and condition?

Japan’s used vehicle exporting is a global business that steps up to answer and meet the expectations of the rising number of car buyers online. Almost good as new, pre-owned vehicles exported from Japan are no more than six years old with less than 100,000 kilometers of covered mileage. Why so?

High depreciation rates and meticulous road tests of Japanese vehicles make its value decline after only several years. Although vehicle disposal is available for devalued cars, it is rather expensive for average car owners. This situation gave rise to online car auctions and export business—a profitable and beneficial option for pre-owners and a practical, cheaper alternative for car buyers.

It is important to note, however, that a growing number of Japanese used car dealers and exporters online offer practical and cheaper alternatives. Most of these car dealers have grown to become worldwide exporters while others are single entrepreneurs who run their own business. Established car dealers may give you secure and reliable business deals while small dealers have relatively smaller overheads which translates to less dealer fees. But trust is always yours to give, and companies could only earn that trust through reliable and quality service.

One company that has earned the trust of customers on over 80 countries on six continents is IBC Japan. A world leader in the vehicle export industry, IBC Japan offers a variety of online export services of the best pre-owned car makes such as Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Honda, Isuzu, Daihatsu, and Subaru. European and US car makes are also available from inventory, along with original left-hand drive vehicles straight from the USA. Singapore, Thailand, and Korea: all these at very competitive and reasonable prices.

IBC Japan’s interactive website is also very flexible and allows customers to conveniently search specific criteria of Japanese used cars such as make, model, and price range. Search results come in a thumbnail format complete with vehicle specs, description, and grading. More importantly, IBC Japan has a customer service center that serves customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week to answer any inquiries and attend to concerns.

Now back to the question in hand, “Is it worth to buy used cars through online auctions?” Well it is, but only if you are dealing with the right dealer.

IBC Japan specializes in exporting Japanese used cars worldwide.

Cars in Dubai – The Rules of the Road

Driving in Dubai can be a challenge and may initially be intimidating. Dubai is home to approximately 180 different nationalities, all of whom come with their own driving abilities and habits. Those arriving from Western countries may find the roads chaotic, while those from Asian nations or Arab states may find the driving organized. With some experience behind the wheel in Dubai, coupled with basic knowledge of local driving regulations, expats should soon feel comfortable taking to the roads.

One must have a residency visa in order to acquire a local driving license. Many people arrive in Dubai on a visit visa and thus will rent a vehicle for the first month or so until their residency visa is completed. In order to rent a car you will need an International Driving Permit and a driving license from your home country. Many well-known car rental agencies exist in Dubai including Avis, Budget Car Rentals, Hertz and Thrifty Car Rentals. Alternatively, you may opt to obtain a Temporary Driving License if you wish to drive a private car. A temporary license is valid for six months and is issued at the Dubai Traffic Police Station.

Once you have Dubai residency you must get a local driving license – you can no longer use a temporary or international permit. Certain nationalities, including those from many European countries, US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Africa, and South Korea can get a local license by simply showing their own driving license and doing some paperwork. Others will need to take driving lessons (available at licensed centers including Belhasa Driving Center, Dubai Driving Center, Emirates Driving Institute, Galadari Motor Driving Center, and Al Ahli Driving School) and afterwards pass a test. The driving school can arrange an appointment for your driving test with the Dubai Traffic Department.

Once an expat has a residency visa they can buy a car. Most major car makes are available at dealers in the UAE, with 4x4s and Japanese models being especially popular. Second hand vehicles can be found at 4×4 Motors, Al Futtaim AutoMall, Western Auto and SunCity Motors among others. Searching the classifieds for used cars in Dubai can also yield good results.

After you rent or buy a car, understanding the local rules of the road is paramount to having a positive experience. It is often necessary to drive defensively and be vigilant behind the wheel. Cars in Dubai are left-hand drive, with traffic on the right. Slower drivers should stick to the furthest right lane. If you travel in the left-most lane at a slower speed you will most likely find another vehicle alarmingly close to your rear bumper, honking its horn and flashing its high beams. It is common for drivers to change lanes abruptly without signaling, to slowly coast through stop signs instead of coming to a full stop, and to honk their horns loudly the instant the light turns green at a traffic signal. Pedestrians are often darting across the street and need to be watched for.  Recently an automated toll system (known as Salik) was installed on selected major roadways in order to try and reduce traffic congestion.

There are mobile radar cameras set up around the emirate to catch those driving over the speed limit or running a red light. Zero tolerance exists for drinking and driving. Something as seemingly minor as a rude hand gesture, used in a moment of frustration at another driver, can land you in court or even jail. If you do incur a fine you will not receive a notice in the mail, rather you can check on the Dubai Police Traffic website or call them directly. Fines for an entire year can be paid when renewing your annual car registration. If you get into a minor accident it is recommended to park your vehicle so as not to obstruct traffic, get the other party’s details, and then immediately visit the nearest police station to file a report. If the police are called to the scene they will often write a report on the spot. These papers are necessary for the insurance company and it is almost impossible to get repairs done without them.

Unfortunately Dubai has one of the highest road death tolls in the world. As of March 2008 the Unified Federal Traffic Law stiffened the penalties for driving offenses and also implemented a black point system for drivers in attempts to improve road safety for all who visit and live in Dubai.

Where to Buy Affordable and Reliable Used Cars

Recently there has been quite a steep rise in the number of people who are more interested in buying a used car rather than buying a new car. Though used, these cars provide the same experience and comfort that the new cars would do. But the question is – where to find these great used cars.

Actually there are a number of places where such used cars can be found easily. Most of these places are easily accessible and they provide really good cars. One can find such cars at the various Government auctions or the police impound auctions normally held at the police or the sheriff?s department of that particular region. Almost all of the used cars are in very good condition and are of course in running condition. But most of these ready for the road cars are usually taken by other Government institutions, such as banks, trasportation, finance and other bureaucratic departments.

Your local used car dealer can also be a good source for buying such used cars. Most of these used cars for sale require a great deal of expertise which the representatives of such cars generally have. Most of these used cars are offered at comparatively lower prices than their brand new counterparts for obvious reasons.

Used cars for sale advertisements can also be found in the various local and national newspapers. Many leading automobile companies have a specialized branch which deals mainly with the selling and buying of used cars and also offers discount on exhange of old cars for new ones.

One of the best place to buy or sell a used car is the internet. Hundreds and thousands of online buyers and sellers are available 24×7 across the whole of the internet offering a wide range of authentic products and prices. The services are open 24 hours a day and can be accessed at any time and from anywhere on the planet. One more important factor for buying or selling a used car online is the fact that it costs a lot less than other forms.

First Cars: What You Should Buy

It is a day you are dreading and your teenager is looking forward to. No matter how much you do not want it to happen, your child is eventually going to get his driver’s license. When he does, you want to make sure he gets a car that will be the best for him. You need to look at the criteria for what makes a good first car, and then go from there.

When it comes to a first car you want something that is safe and affordable. Teenagers have the highest accident rate of any group of drivers, which means you want something that will not crumble if there is an accident. As much as you do not want to think about an accident, it is always best to be prepared.

Because crash test ratings are so important, you should consider a Honda Accord. The accord does very well in safety tests, and it also is very reliable. This makes it the perfect first car for someone. When you purchase this vehicle, you will have the confidence of knowing it will last for years to come. It can take a beating and still hold up, so it is perfect for someone that is just starting out on the roads.

If that does not appeal to you, you can look at the Ford Taurus. If your child is in an accident in this car, he will have a lot of protection. It is incredibly safe and reliable, which makes it a great car for a first time driver.

The Toyota Camry falls under the same category. Loaded with safety features, you can put your child on the road without much worry when he is in this car. It is a heavy sedan and will offer your child the protection all new drivers need.

A Buick LeSabre is often passed over, but it is also a good first car. It is heavy and also easy to drive. It can withstand the bumping that often comes with a first time driver and holds up very well. This car his difficult to damage if it is hit, which means you should be able to hold onto it for a long time.

A Honda Civic is not as large as the cars mentioned, but it is also good for a first time driver. It is affordable, gets good gas mileage, and is reliable. Also it is a very popular choice among first time drivers. However, it is not as heavy as the other vehicles mentioned. While it is a safe vehicle, the others mentioned offer more protection.

Keep safety in mind when you are shopping for a car for a first time driver. You want to make sure the car and the driver can withstand the problems that typically occur with a first time driver. Get something that can take a slight beating and will keep going. You want a first car to last for a long time, and all of the cars mentioned should be able to do just that.

Classic Cars Transporter-3 Important Things That Will Insure A Safe Passage

How your car will arrive to its destination depends on you and how well you shopped around because so much anxiety is spent over the worry of cars arriving in one piece with good reason. The transporter company you select needs to pay extra attention to the details of cars and especially exotic or specialty cars because their rare and expensive. I have a few suggestions to help the transition go a bit smoother for you.

First, reputable car transporters are there to provide you with safe options. Their main objective should be to get your vehicle to the destination point in perfect condition and on scheduled time. If you’re worried about the safe transport of your car, especially if is a classic or exotic car your not alone. Your exotic car transporter company is there to work for you. Choosing a car shipping company over driving the car yourself as your vehicle moving option has a multitude of advantages.

Second, you should choose a company that can provide state of the art custom-built hard sided fully enclosed trailers. This way your precious car stays protected from the outside elements. Also, think about the options of having your car remain flat without being tied down by chains while in transit. It should not be difficult to find a classic or exotic car Transport Company with a trained crew of professionals who work to maintain an exceptional fleet of opened and enclosed transports to fit your personal needs and budget.

You would think that when it comes to professional car transporters, especially exotic or classic, that the crew would use the most caution, consideration and carefulness when it comes to these types prized vehicles. The reality is because their so expensive and costly to repair. You need to be very particular in a reliable company who will care for your classic or exotic car as though it were their own.

Consider a company that utilized a lift gate system that can tilt to ensure a smooth level when loading your vehicle if the loading surface isn’t level. This is very important when transport companies have to stack cars for transporting; they need to get cars to upper levels safely without the threat of causing damage.

Thirdly, my best advice is for you to be painfully selective and careful. Make sure you review thoroughly any and all documents regarding the cost and liability of your statement for your protection. Make sure your quote is clearly defined.

You also need a company that is well-equipped with equipment that is in tune with the latest technology, and insurance of your car while in transit. The transporter company you choose should have a well-developed and reliable network of offices throughout the country and world and a door-to-door satellite tracking system so you know where your car is at all times.

Let’s be honest here, you have a very expensive car and you expect it to remain in excellent condition. Again, you need to be very particular in a reliable company who will care for your classic or exotic car as though it were their own.

Shop around and compare services. That is how you get the best deals too. This is for your peace of mind for yourself and for extra protection for your car while traveling

DaMovers is your affordable moving solution for comparing Auto Transport Service companies. Be very particular when it comes to Classic Cars Transporter and especially Exotic Car Transporter companies to insure a safe and damage free passage of your prized posession.

How To Protect Your Self From Buying A Lemon When It Comes To Used Cars – Part Two?

This is the part two of the article how to protect your self from buying a lemon when it comes to used cars, to continue our discussion on accident repairs when it comes to a used car. Other tips on how to spot an accident repaired vehicles aside from the body VIN etching stickers can be paint color. When a vehicle is repainted for whatever reason, it is difficult to match the paint color, this is due to the fact older paint has been exposed to the elements for many years. The sun light, UV rays, and rain has taken its toll and most likely faded the paint to a much lighter shade, when new paint is applied it is virtually impossible to match the older paint color. This is especially true when it comes to colors such as silver, beige, or any light metallic paint. A good paint to match would be black or anything very dark. But never the less if you see the doors on the vehicle doesn’t match in color 100% chances are one of the doors has been painted in the past. When it comes to body work on a vehicle, one should not automatically assume the worst, many times a car is repainted due to scratches, dent, scraps, and it can be something very minor. Alarm bells should go off if the part has been replaced all together, it can be something major.

Body shop repair bills are usually very high, from a simple bumper replacement with new paint, that can cost easily $700 and more in Canada, add additional fees of rental cars, and detailing. The total bill of that repair can run as much as $1000. The amount indicated on the CarProof report can be deceptive to untrained eye, usually you shouldn’t be concerned if the repair bill is less than $3000, it can be as simple as the front and rear bumper replacement. If the vehicle has frame damage it is usually obvious when driving the car, especially at high rate of speed. If the produces unusual noises, or you have a hard time keeping the steering wheel straight, chances are the frame has been damaged and it is no longer straight producing an uncontrollable driving behavior. In low speed, if the vehicle pulls hard to one side it also can be a good indication of body frame damage. But the best way to tell a car has major damage is to bring the vehicle to your local mechanic for a thorough inspection.

Sometimes the CarProof report can show no accident reports, this can be the result of previous owner paying for the repair in cash, and didn’t make any claim against his insurance policy. This is a good indication the repair cost was relatively low, and the owner could afford to pay for it in full. It is not necessary a bad sign. Most Popular Cars

People often ask me about the most popular cars, which are best, what makes a car so popular?

At one time the most popular car in Britain was the Ford Escort, so you might think it was the best car you could buy. Hold on, that just wasn’t true, it wasn’t even the best car in its class, so what gives?

Lots of things because for lots of drivers being the best is not actually a need, for a car to become one of the most popular cars it must have other important items in its portfolio, like how much does it cost to buy, to run in terms of miles to the gallon, to maintain, to insure, is it reliable and is it easy to drive.

For the most popular cars take the cost to buy, they will retail new at a commercial and competitive price set by the manufacturer taking into account its rivals costs, so the profit per car sold is not big, good news for the buyer and for the maker in trying to ensure the car’s popularity, that is too say numbers sold.

The new car becomes a used car, lots of choice starts to appear in the market, price becomes an issue, the most popular cars tend to depreciate quite quickly due to the numbers trying to find you the potential buyer.

To go back to the other important criteria, the cost of running the most popular cars tend to be the lowest you can find, petrol/diesel consumption will be good, service costs will be set at the lower end of the scale, so the car stays popular with the buying public. Parts are common and relatively cheap.

The fact of the matter is the most popular cars have another essential ingredient for the motoring public, they are very, very reliable.

The insurance costs for the most popular cars are in the lowest ratings, are easy to insure for most drivers, the young and the not so young will find most insurers are happy to offer a decent deal, try comparing the costs between a used 1.4 Ford Fiesta against that of a Mazda MX5 of the same age for a 25 year old!

Another point for making it onto the most popular cars list is the ease of driving them, the seats are pretty okay, the controls are simple but efficient, the gearbox, although no world beater is as easy as it gets for you to use, you can always find reverse even in the dark, this is sometimes an issue though with so called super cars!!

To sum up, the most popular cars are cheap to buy, easy to insure and service, parts are at the lower price end of the market, easy to drive and as reliable as you can get.

Even if you have the mis-fortune to crash, have a little bump, the repairs for most popular cars are relatively inexpensive. Regardless though which car you drive, please, please, please wear your seat belt.

Used Cars Advantages

Most people hesitate when it comes to purchasing car, the most frequent question that they have being: should I buy a new one or a used one? The choice is theirs but the essential thing is to be aware of both possibilities and their advantages. Those of you who have decided to purchase a used car made a smart choice, because you can get an almost new car without having to suffer the depreciation a new car undergoes.  It is a fact that used cars are 20 or even 30 percent cheaper than the new ones and that they will definitely help you save some money.

Used cars present several advantages that are worth taking into consideration. First of all, buying a used car means that you will be able to afford a more luxurious model. Next, you will save a significant amount of money on insurance and finding a near new-car vehicle is not that difficult and bargains are a possibility for those of you who are smart shoppers.

Used cars considered a risk by some people because of the lack of reliability and the expense of repairs. However, these are old issues because nowadays used cars are more reliable than they used too, some of them are still under factory warranty, most carmakers sell certified used cars which have warranties, you can easily find out the history of an used car and the financing rates for such cars have dropped considerably these years.

Used cars purchasing is no longer a risk but a good deal, as long as you know how to bargain and where to shop from. Finding a great deal of a used car can be very rewarding from a financial point of view. However, if you are having doubts regarding the condition of the used vehicle you intend to purchase, we advise you to perform a vehicle check that will reveal any potential problems. Thus, you will know exactly what you are getting and how much you should pay for it.

Used cars are nowadays durable and reliable due to manufacturers and engineers, having almost the same value as a new car. Since new car prices are continuously growing, used cars are becoming more appealing. Used car dealers can also put at your disposal certified used cars, which have gained much popularity and can be found at most car dealers. The most important benefit of certified used cars is the fact that you are purchasing a car that has been checked out carefully and turned out to be in a good condition, thus receiving an extended warranty.

Used car dealers will offer you certified warranty for used cars only if it meets the highest standards set by the manufacturer of the automobile. Furthermore, once you purchase such a car most dealers will let you three days to see if the car is right for you. Other benefits of certified used cars are roadside assistance, lower loan rates, free of charge maintenance together with oil changes and inspections.

Used car dealers consider that the most important benefit of such cars is the long time warranty that you receive which is low cost and will help you save hundreds of dollars. Used car dealers will show you a wide range of models, brands and colors, offering good quality cars, well-maintained and having an impeccable look.

Purchasing Used cars has started to gain ground lately, especially because of the existence of certified pre-owned programs. Furthermore, Used car dealers are aware of the fact that used cars represent a good option for their clients and they offer them all the necessary information in order to make a wise choice.
